Today in school we came back for another exciting week. We had a new special. It was PE with Mrs. G. Remember to wear your sneakers on PE days (that's Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday). We were juggling scarfs and had to use cups and balls to do it and we had to try to catch them. We also did hula hooping. We had indoor recess and got to choose blocks, legos or play dough. We had a mystery box today. Inside were pencils. We learned to grip the pencil like "baby shark", our energizer, and we practiced tracing our name. It's important that we can write our name, and identify our name. Please practice at home as we have lots to learn this year! We also had lunch today!

Today in school we read two Pete the Cat stories. One of them was Pete the Cat Rocking in My School Shoes. After we read that story, we went on a school tour and saw lots of places in our school. Then we wondered about Pete's shoes; so we heard the story of Pete the Cat I Love My White Shoes. We went to the cafeteria and had lunch again. When we got back from lunch we listened to a story and then had rest time. We learned an energizer called "Baby Shark". We are still learning it, but you might be able to ask us to do it at home. We went outside for recess again today. It was less hot! We had two mystery boxes today! One of them had crayons and the other one had unifix cubes. We learned how to care for our materials and got to use them.
We are going to music soon. So we will be off in a few minutes.

Today in school Mrs. Stahl read us a story called The Kissing Hand. Chester the raccoon was scared of school and he didn't want to go. His mom made him feel better by kissing his hand. We went outside for recess today. We learned about how to use our playground equipment and be safe. We went to the cafeteria and had lunch. That was fun. After lunch we came back to our classroom and had rest time. It was nice to take some time to relax. We learned about our class gumball jar and we earned two of them. We earn gumballs by doing things well as a whole class. When our jar is full we get to choose a reward. We went to the bathroom as a whole class three times today. We are practicing waiting quietly in the hallway.

Hi! I’m Mrs. Stahl. Children in room 4 work really hard and grow so much by the end of the year! I’m looking forward to a year of learning, fun and adventures! I can’t wait to learn all about you, but first here is a little about me.

My favorite color is purple, and Fall is one of my favorite seasons. My favorite restaurant is The Cheesecake Factory and I like Dunkin Donuts even though I never finish my coffee. When I’m not teaching I enjoy playing tennis, writing and going for walks. My favorite dessert is chocolate ice cream (with rainbow sprinkles and cherries!). I am married to my favorite guy, Matthew, and we are expecting our first baby in November! We have a Shih-Poo (that’s a Shih Tzu and a Poodle mix) puppy named Magnolia, “Maggie” for short. She likes to chew everything she can find, but her specialty is napkins and tissues!

When I was in second grade right here at Henry Barnard I said I would become a teacher when I grew up! I graduated in 2008 with a Bachelors degree in Elementary Education from Westfield State University. I began teaching in Enfield as an elementary math consultant for 4 years before becoming a kindergarten teacher! In 2012 I graduated with a Masters in Technology in Education from Lesley University.
